BEST IMPRESSIONS

Sylvia Montgomery is the founder and executive consultant of Best Impressions Image and Etiquette Consulting and Training  in Castro Valley, CA.  She has been advising men and women on how to develop, improve and refine their  personal image for over 30 years. She specializes in total image development including both personal appearance enhancement as well as social behavioral skills. 

Formerly,  the East Bay Regional Corporate Wardrobe Consultant  for a major retail women's clothing store, she trained sales associates on the concept of investment dressing and wardrobe planning.   She is currently a contract life skills instructor with Independent Living Skills (ILSP)  of Alameda County where she teaches survival life skills to foster care youth preparing them for thier time of  emancipation.  Ms Montgomery is a certified, make-up, skin care and Spa Escape Specialist with Beauti Control, and a certified color and image specialist with Jeunique International , Inc.  She is also certified, through Ultra Business Services, with the state of California  to  teach continuing education classes to owners and administrators of group home facilities.

Recognizing the need for direction in social manners amongst our youth, Sylvia has developed and implemented two social graces programs.  One is entitled "Introduction to Social Graces" for youth and young adults from ages 7 to 25 and the second  program was developed specifically geared towards teaching parents of children ages 4 to 6  on how to train their children in basic manners and etiquette skills.  It is entitled "Manners are Taught, Not Inherited: How to teach Your Child Good Manners."

Ms Montgomery earned an A. A. degree in Fashion Design from the College of Alameda and a B. A. Degree in Home Economics with emphasis on clothing and textiles.  She gained exclusive experience at the age of 16 working in her fathers tailoring and alterations shop working as a custom seamstress and wardrobe  and accessory coordinator.

Ms, Montgomery's ultimate goal is to help her clients feel comfortable in the way they dress and behave while engaging in professional and social situations.  The end result being that they are perceived by others as confident, credible, professional and socially savvy.  Her motto is , " It is imperative that your first impression always be your "BEST IMPRESSION".
